Week 1 - Joy // Day 2

Matthew 9:2 And behold, some people brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Be of good cheer, my son; your sins are forgiven.”

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Acts 23:11 That night the Lord appeared to Paul and said, “Be of good cheer, Paul. Just as you have been a witness to me here in Jerusalem, you must preach the Good News in Rome as well.”

Wherever the Master was, one of the most familiar words on his lips was, “Be of good cheer!” Consider the power to make someone happy, to win influence, to make life worth living to others, that lies in such an attitude. Recall the proverb: “Heaviness in the heart makes it stoop, but a good word makes it glad.” Are you commending your Christian Gospel—Gospel means good news—by such an attitude?
