Blind Bartimaeus: The Call to Faith-Action
Narrative Scripture: Mark 10:46–52
Supporting Passages: Hebrews 11:1 (Evidence of things unseen); James 2:17 (Faith and works).
Key Mindset: He “threw his cloak aside,” symbolizing he was never going back. He followed Jesus “on the road”.
The Challenge: Throw off your old cloak and follow the Light of the world.
Practical Invitation: Identify the “safety net” you hide behind. Today, pray a “dangerous” prayer and act as if He has already heard you.
“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase”. — MLK Jr.
Challenging Questions:
- What “cloak” of your old identity are you still clutching “just in case” this Jesus thing doesn’t work out?
- Who in your life is telling you to “be quiet,” and will you shout louder to get to Jesus?
